What is prompt writing? Prompt writing is the craft of designing specific, clear instructions to compel a thoughtful written response. It is a topic, question, or scenario meant to spark imagination, guide critical thinking, or overcome writer’s block.

For me, it’s exercising my brain and helping me use my critical thinking skills. Prompt writing helps me to keep my writing skills in peak condition. Which is why The Written Cue has been created.
